WIP: Orc boyz, assembly night!

I mentioned in a previous post my rejuvenated love for the greenskins, having finished one orc boy and having two more in the pipeline, I decided that it was time  for some mass painting completing an entire regiment that i knew i had laying around.

Little did i know that only the plastic wrapping was broken and nothing in it was assembled.

I did a quick count and realized that it would add up to a full twenty boyz lining up so i got to it and also found a little surprise laying around....

When getting started I brought out the three miniatures I had started already, from memory, actively checking if they can stand next to, in front and behind each other is key. Otherwise your are in for a nasty surprise when them Orc´s will actually form a raging mob. Definitely in character In character but hardly practical ;-)

Getting the all assembled takes a good while, in addition its quite messy to. Scraping all those mould lines off and getting the bits to fit each other creates a lot of plastic chips spreading all across the room. Not having a designated hobby area, therefore using the kitchen table can cause a lot of animosity at home if you are not living alone.
So a quick tip: Make sure you vacuum if your hobby situation is similar to mine.

However after two three hour sessions below is the result ready for priming, on the picture below you can also see the surprise i mentioned in the shape of a Orc warlord on a boar being hidden at the bottom of the orc regiment box!

Next steps are 1.Priming with black and then 2. mass painting. The goal for this unit is to progress the paint job quality all the time, with the Orc boy that previously has been featured as the baseline

Hang around to follow the progress......
